Why we want to build up the firm's links with the PRC
This is for two reasons, inward investment and outward investment.
Inward InvestmentWe already act for a number of British and other western companies who are doing work in China. We have developed a niche dealing with the preparation of contracts that our clients need to operate in China for review by local Chinese lawyers. We would be interested in building up relationships with firms of Chinese lawyers that are similar to ourselves and could advise clients that we would introduce to them.
Outward Investment
Obviously, there is a considerable amount of investment being made by the Chinese in the west. We would be interested in assisting with advising on that investment. This would mean our working closely with lawyers and other business advisors from China in protecting their clients' positions in the UK.
