Italian Talk

Brian Lett QC will give a talk at our office entitled “Italy’s Courage – the story of a Secret Army”. He will describe the extraordinary courage of at least 62000 Italian families who sheltered Allied escaped prisoners of war after the Italian Armistice of September 1943. Brian is an acknowledged historian of WW2 and has written five books. The timings for the talk will be 6:30pm for drinks with the talk starting at 7pm. We would anticipate finishing around 8pm

Using personal data for marketing

As with all uses of personal data, using it for marketing has been made more complicated by the new GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.   As well as the new regime created by the Act and the GDPR, there is also the existing Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) to remember.  PECR has not (yet) been updated, but there does seem to be much confusion as to how the rules fit together. Roddie Wordie will be giving a talk on the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition 1914-1917 at our offices at 6.30 pm on Tuesday 16 October 2018. Roddie's grandfather, Sir James Wordie CBE FRSE LLD, was a member of Sir Ernest Shackleton's Antarctic expedition, acting as its geologist and chief of scientific staff.
